ATTENTION: On Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st ONLY, the orchard across the street from us will be open with Prime Red, Gala, and McIntosh apples for everyone, no reservation necessary. It will be open from 10 to 5 for picking only. Just show up with your sneakers and sunscreen on. It is supposed to be in the 70's and so should be good picking weather!!!
It is CASH ONLY!
We are open for the 2019 picking season starting Saturday, Sept. 7th 2019 until the apples are gone for groups that pick 20 or more bags. The experience comes with an apple facts lecture, picking, and making and tasting apple cider.
This is a good apples year from all the rain and snow we had this winter. We have some new varieties as well as Golden and Red Delicious, Jonathon, Fuji, Gala, Prime Red, Arkansas Black, and McIntosh.
This year we will have our own small cookbook available for sale for only $5 each. Inside are our own recipes including the first place apple days pie recipe from 2015 and second place from 2009. Don't forget to bring cash to buy one for yourself!
Apples and Art Orchards- for groups that pick 20 or more bags only
is a U-Pick apple orchard where for only $12 you can pick a "half peck of apples" which is about 5 pounds and spend a fabulous afternoon in our beautiful mountain orchard and charming gold-rush era town - Julian, California. Our apples are pesticide free and all natural - they have never been sprayed. Our soil has not been contaminated with pesticides or weed killers either.
The apples are not perfect like store apples - ours are pesticide free and have never been sprayed, so there may be spots or tiny holes.
In addition to taking home your apples, you get apple facts, a tour of the orchard, and your own free apple cider making and tasting experience for groups of 20 or more bags picked.
A deposit of $60 is required up front to hold the reservation two weeks before the date.
We have many Red Delicious (pictured above), MacIntosh, Jonathon, Arkansas Black, Lady and several heirloom apples planted 75 years ago or more that are ready now and some that will be ready soon.
