Yes we still have a lot of apples - mainly Red Delicious and some trees with other varieties but not a lot. We take groups, not small families, unless groups allow them to join in. We are also closed for an event on October 13th. We have availability on other dates in October.
We are open for U-Pick everyday at 1:00 and 3:00 for group appointments of either 20 or more bags of apples picked that includes an apple facts lecture and apple cider making and tasting or 10 or more bags of apples picked only. You can email for a reservation right now at ApplesAndArt@sbcglobal.net.
It is a very good year for apple picking. But get your reservations in early as we can only take as many groups as we have apples to pick. Apples will probably not be gone until some time in November!
This year we will have our own small cookbook available for sale for only $5 each. Inside are our own recipes including the first place apple days pie recipe from 2015 and second place from 2009. Don't forget to bring cash to buy one for yourself!
Apples and Art Orchards- for groups only is a U-Pick apple orchard where for only $12 you can pick a "half peck of apples" which is about 5 pounds and spend a fabulous afternoon in our beautiful mountain orchard and charming gold-rush era town - Julian, California. Our apples are pesticide free and all natural - they have never been sprayed. Our soil has not been contaminated with pesticides or weed killers either.
The apples are not perfect like store apples - ours are pesticide free and have never been sprayed, so there may be spots or tiny holes.
In addition to taking home your apples, you get apple facts, a tour of the orchard, and your own free apple cider making and tasting experience for groups of 20 or more bags picked.
A deposit of $60 is required up front to hold the reservation two weeks before the date.
We have many Red Delicious (pictured above), MacIntosh, Jonathon, Arkansas Black, Lady and several heirloom apples planted 75 years ago or more that are ready now and some that will be ready soon.
